IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Dear friends who love hiking and bucolic walks, it is important to be aware of the conditions of the Mediterranean climate which becomes excessively arid during the summer, which leads to a significant increase in the risk of fire. Certain particularly critical situations (strong winds, increased drought) lead to the temporary closure of trails, as well as forest areas.
As a result, the authorities have implemented a prevention plan that we invite you to read by clicking on this link: Access to forest areas.
The Golden Islands (Îles d’Or)
PORQUEROLLES
The ferry for Porquerolles is close to the campsite. Take a 20 minute trip and discover a very beautiful island with natural charm. The paths are ideal for exploring the island on foot or by bike. Not to be missed on Porquerolles are the beaches of Notre Dame and Argent, the village, the olive groves, the Pointe du Langoustier and Fort Ste Agathe with its view of the Mediterranean and the town of Hyères.
PORT CROS
Port Cros National Park protected by the Conservatoire du Littoral, and is a wild, 100% natural island. Port Cros can be explored by land along its pathways with pine trees, eucalyptus trees and cicadas, but also by sea with the Palud beach underwater trail with all the fish and corals. To discover the riches Port Cros has to offer, remember to bring your trainers or walking shoes, along with your mask and snorkel.
LE LEVANT
From Hyères harbour, towards Le Levant – the naturist island of the Iles d’Or. In complete harmony with nature, stroll under the pine trees and enjoy the island beaches for a refreshing swim.
Hyères town centre
During your holiday at La Tour Fondue, take time to visit Hyères and its town centre. In particular, we suggest you visit the old town, public gardens (Castel Sainte-Caire and Parc Saint-Bernard), the Villa Noailles and the ruins of the castle (wonderful views over the city and the Presqu’île de Giens).
